After an absence of six years, the China CNC Machine Tool Show, which has been held every even-numbered year since 2000, will be back again. 2024, from 8 to 12 April, the 13th China CNC Machine Tool Show will be hosted by China Machine Tool & Tool Builders' Association (hereinafter referred to as "the Association").

CCMT2024 will use all 17 indoor exhibition halls in Shanghai New International Expo Centre for the first time, with a total exhibition area of 200,000 square metres, and nearly 2,000 machine tool companies from 28 countries and regions competing on the same stage, making it the largest machine tool exhibition ever held in Asia.

In 2023, the machine tool industry completed revenue of 1097.4 billion yuan, down 10.3% year-on-year, and the overall total profit fell by 35.8% year-on-year, with the profit margin reduced by 4.1 percentage points year-on-year. In terms of orders, the new orders and orders in hand for metalworking machine tools of the key contact enterprises of the Association declined by 8.0% and 14.3% year-on-year, respectively.

In terms of segmented industries, driven by the military, energy, automotive and other areas of equipment processing quality and efficiency improvement requirements, some of the metal cutting machine tools market orders increased. At the same time, the Association pointed out that with the changes in demand for new energy vehicles, although the metal-forming machine tools are still relatively full of orders on hand, but the next stage may enter the downside.

Exports, since 2011, metal working machine tools in general, fluctuations in imports fell, exports continue to rise trend.
